The lives of our parents and
their
parents and so on are what genealogists hope to learn about. Dry
facts gathered in libraries and archives and even family trees
themselves,
are but the bare bones onto which the real challenge will be
arranged.
This challenge is to add personal details and allow us to perceive the
humanity of our long-departed relatives. While history tells us
about
great leaders and events, family histories strive to put ourselves and
our ancestors into those pictures, to make history in general
personally
relevant and meaningful. With Pilons on all continents and
speaking
a wide range of languages, there is much that we have to learn about
each
other and the worlds that our relatives have lived in and in many
cases,
helped build.
The Pilon stories below are about
events
that involved a Pilon. They are all examples of how our ancestors
lived. Some are involved and reflect a lot of research while
others
are reminiscences being shared; recollections of meaningful moments.
You are invited to contribute and
share
your memories or your research with Pilons around the world. If
you
have Pilon stories and images which you think would be of interest to
others,
please contact one of the Page Makers who will help you post this
information.
