Dear Jim, Bev & Monique,

Thanks for the beautiful card.  Don't worry about gifts for me.  You must be in quite a spot with that auto and I don't expect anything.  Just hearing from you makes me most happy.

I heard from Mom today.  Glad Dad's finger is healing.  The medal Mom & Dad bought is beautiful.  I'll wear it always.

I'm doing quite well.  The Colonel has even commented on my execution of Duties here in the C.P.  My conduct and proficiency marks were 4.8 and 4.7 respectively.  This is very high coming from Lt. Wells.  He just doesn't give them away (5.0 is perfect).

I have the Duty tonite.  My buddie's wife is leaving tomorrow, so I took it for him.

I'll bet my darling niece is growing like a weed.  She will be in school almost when I get out.  There is talk of a one year extension for us.

Doesn't look as though I can get over for awhile.  Quite a few quotas should start coming in in Nov. or Dev.  May get on one of them.  Even a cruise would be okay with me.

We have a field problem next week.  will be in the field for two days.  Should prove to be quite exciting and informative both.  I worked until 2100 on our annex last nite.  You can't imagine the paper work it takes to run a Battalion.

Not much going on.  I just put in lots of hourse down here.  Will be going to nite school starting in Sept.  May ref some "B" ball games for extra funds on the side.

Your little bud
