Pilons
of Essex County,
Fabien Pilon |
I first noted Fabien Pilon (born 1839 Côteau-du-Lac, Québec) and his family in Essex County in the 1881 Census (they were apparently there in 1871, but I have not yet gone through that record). They already had 7 children living with them at that time. While he and his wife Marie-Anne Lalonde were married in St-Clet, Québec (September 22, 1863), it is not known when they arrived in Essex County (at least not by me!). Interestingly, Fabien like Antoine who settled near Amhersburg, is descendant from Antoine Pilon, one of the Canadian-born sons of the first Pilon to come to Canada (click here to see his family tree). The information provided below was gathered from a number of sources: census records, parish records in the National Archives of Canada and information published on the Internet by Gary George Pillon (whom we thank for the corrections brought to the table below) on FamilyTreeMaker.com User Home Pages.
