Harold M. Sterling

From New England, a land famous for baked beans, history and the sedateness of its populace comes Harold M. (Long John) Sterling, sole American in Course 39, and the other half of the famous Fox-Sterling duo.  Born in the light of a full Boston moon on September 11, 1917, (which may account for the moony look that steals over his face after an hour or two in the wet canteen) Slim is a man of wide experience, having been, among other things, a bartender of no mean ability.  An active participant in all chalk, rubber and AP-1234 wars, Harold has kept himself unexcited and unscather throughout the ebb and tide of class warfare, not even a volume bouncing off the skull of friend Fox being enough to upset his Sphinc like composure.  Heading to Canada during the summer, Slim enlisted in Montreal last July.
