"Smitty" says he came from "good
ol' Toronto" which is quite a change from the usual "No good Toronto"
or "Toronto the good". We guess he must have something well
worthwhile tucked away there, for every day his eyes light up with a
naughty twinkle as an envelope bearing this postmark, and written in an
artistic feminine hand arrives right on the hour. "Smitty" was
born December 23rd, 1922, and went to Bloor Collegiate -- we feel sure
this must be "Snore" Collegiate, for if you have ever looked up in
class and seen "Smitty" awake - pal - you were asleep or dreaming
yourself. The only way we can reconcile Smitty's good marks with
the number of times he went off to the movies is taht he must go to see
educational shorts -- but remembering that twinkle, on second thought,
we think not. |
