Course 39, No.4 Air Observer School, Crumlin, Ontario

1942

Albert John Norton, MiD

They say that they grown them wild out in the West, and that it's a man's country, and if you as us, we'll agree with you.  Every time there is a battle in ye class room, with chairs, tables, etc., overturned, and with a howling mob to add background, you can bet there in the middle of it all will be (Battling) Jack Norton, the wild man from Winnipeg.  Listing his chief hobby as D.R., Jack says that he has never done anything in his twenty-three years of savage existence but hand over cigarettes to Jarvis and take women away from Kerr....just to keep things balanced.  Jack enlisted in Ottawa on the 23rd of July and adds that he likes D.R., and that he wants to be an observer and if anybody doubts it he'll oblige them with a punch in the nose.....any takers?

NORTON, F/L Albert John (J11961) - Mention in Despatches - Overseas - Award effective 14 June 1945 as per London Gazette of that date and AFRO 1478/45 dated 21 September 1945.  Trained at No.1 ITS, No.4 BGS and No.2 ANS.
